Otterflow organizes research by workspace. A workspace corresponds to a folder on your computer, containing the manuscripts, sources, figures, and material that AI can help you work with.

Create or open a workspace

On the initial empty page, choose New project to create a new workspace, or Open folder to attach an existing directory. Use a separate workspace for each research topic when you want files and AI context to stay organized.

Recent workspaces

The workspace home lists recent locations, so you can return to ongoing work quickly. It is a list of references to folders, not another copy of your files.

Switch workspaces

Click the workspace name or folder control in the global bar to return to My workspaces. Select another workspace there to open it.

Remove or relocate a workspace

Removing a workspace from the recent list does not delete its files from disk. If a folder was moved or renamed outside Otterflow, use the relocation flow to point the entry to its new location.

Tips

  • Keep one coherent topic or project in a workspace.
  • Open an existing folder when you already have a structured set of files.
  • Use the recent list for convenience, but remember the actual data stays in the selected folder.
